Mighty fine.

It certainly was.

The weather turned out just right this afternoon. I could enjoy this nice fall temperature for quite some time.

I'm just flat not looking forward to kicking off my flip flops, I have to say. My feet are always so cold that they are pretty much an ice block during the winter months. :)

One thing is for sure.....I'm enjoying this nice break from the sweat and humidity.....

With that said, I plan to enjoy these nice days

With these two cute kids!!!

Monday evening we played our first soccer game of the season as the Stingrays :)

Al is coaching soccer for the first time!
I love watching the kids play soccer! It is such an exciting game to provides many giggles with those little ones :)Colby did great on the first game! He has built more confidence with each year he's played, and he really seems to enjoy doing it.

Game #1 was a winning success......looking forward to more!

If it was any other way....

it wouldn't be our nutty life!
The story behind this goes: I was washing my car, and I couldn't keep Aubree out of the soap. In fact, I did provide a FEW warnings telling her to stop scooping all my bubbles. Surprisingly, she did not heed the warning, and when she bent to make a scoop, I hosed her. Don't judge me! Apparently, she went inside to comb her wet head with the same brush she INSISTS on using all the time even after she has come close to this minor incident before....

Sooooo, when she comes outside...."Mama! Get it oooooout!" At first, all I could say is..."You have GOT to be kidding me!" Then, I told her she had to wait for a minute (while I got the camera).

When styles collide...

Boy meets girl!!!
On occasion, Aubree's style is not open to the public :)

We call her Sally

Meet Sally. She is one of Danner Farms' newest babies.

The calf was born to this mama, and Aubree lovingly named her Sally. Based on the whole birthing process, Al figures Sally was born approximately 45-50 days premature, hence her very small stature!

It has been close to a week since she was born, and she seems to be thriving. She is eating, pooping, and breathing well (Al says) just like you would watch for with a newborn! At this point, Sally is about the size of our dog....

While we were visiting with Sally, the mama cow was all over us in the next pin! She was growling and such.... never heard a cow make those kinds of mad noises!! We didn't stay long; I understand the feeling you get when someone is roughing up your baby :)

Colby is slightly more nervous than AC!

Hopefully, the calf will continue to do well. It's mostly Aubree that loves checking on her!!

DeLoach Baptism

Thomas and Dawson have both been saved recently, so tonight they took the next step of baptism and becoming official members of the church!!! We couldn't be happier! :)

Therefore we are buried with him by Baptism into death; that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in the newness of life. ~Romans 6:4

This girl was happy today, because she got a haircut! Aubree lives for the day when it is her time to get a trim. She asks all the time when we pass by Erin's if she can get a haircut, which means that is a battle I don't have to worry about....and that makes me happy.

This boy was happy today, because it was his first day of soccer practice. This is Colby's third year and Al's first time coaching him in soccer. His daddy said he did really well tonight and followed instructions.....that makes me happy.

That's just what Colby said when we were in the process of making this happen.....

Just in time for school pictures next week........HOW EXCITING! :)

8 years of driving

This post is mainly for me as something I can look back on one day. When I look at some of Mama's or Grandma's old pictures, it seems like 3/4 of them were taken in front of a vehicle. It is fun looking at the cars we had when I was younger and what stood out about each one! I look forward to showing Colby and Aubree these pictures one day and reminding them of everything that happened while I drove this car.....

The main thing that makes this car valuable is the fact that it brought both of the kids home from the hospital. It is the only car Colby has known for his 6 years! It drove him to his first day at Mrs. Wanna's and his first days of school! When Aubree came along, it drove her to her first day of Mrs. Wanna's too. It has also pulled over several times while we had mama/child discussions :)

Next month would have been 8 years that this car served me well! There isn't anything wonderful about this vehicle except the fact that I really liked my car; I never had a moment's trouble that amounted to anything. The only way I know how to explain it is comparing it to an old man that can't part with an old, broken-in recliner just fits!!!

On Saturday, I cleaned everything out and washed the "dirt road" off. Aubree wanted to help until she decided that Black Dog needed a bath as much as my car! I think the dog was in desperate need of a nap, because she just ignored Aubree smearing soap all over her.

When Aubree woke up this morning, the first thing she asked when she looked outside was where my car was. I reminded her the car was gone and someone else had it now. She asked if I had "to go to the store to buy another" :) I will miss my kids' first car!
