Then and Now....

I was looking through some of my pictures the other day and I found some cute pictures of the boys when they were younger. It is amazing to see how much time has actually passed.

Colby & Dawson~23 months & 2 years
This is one of my favorite pictures ever! Colby isn't so sure....

Daily Bread

God is great, God is good,
Let us thank Him for our food,
By His hands, we are fed,
Thank you Lord for our daily bread.....Amen
AC is starting to catch on to the blessing.....she mumbles something that I can tell sounds like God is Great. With Colby being the primary blessing giver at each meal, her version will probably follow his.........

God is great, God is good - TAKE CARE OF MY FOOD.............etc.

Outdoor Activities

This is my second post in one day!!! It was a very nice day today, so there was much to do...
Today must have been a day for turtles to explore...Al saw a few of them, but this one was right out our door this morning. It was full grown!

Melissa S. gave us some hummingbird flower seeds for Colby to plant...instead of digging up part of a flower bed, Al decided to get some plastic planters and let Colby use those. I wonder of he thinks the more you water them, the faster they grow? While we were eating tonight, Colby asked if we needed to go back out and water them.....again.

Since it was more than just a little warm today, I let Aubree make her first splash of the season in the kiddie pool.....she wasn't sure about it at first (it didn't look or feel much like the bathtub), but after about 10 minutes she started feeling more comfortable and started participating in the typical in/out routine.

Colby visits the Strawberry Patch

Pre-K took their last field trip (I think) to Mr. Danny Durrence's Strawberry Patch. Since it was here in town, Al and Bull were able to meet them there. Each child was able to pick a flat of berries to bring home....yum!

Remembering When.....

Sunday afternoon, I went out with Colby while the others took a nap. He wanted me to sit and watch a magic trick. When he called my name in the midst of his trick, I immediately saw myself when I was WAY younger. One of my childhood memories is spinning in the swing and seeing how fast it could possibly go. The vision was clear as a bell even though the time frame has been 25-30 years ago! I now have a child old enough to make his own childhood memories that he will look back on one day......

Aubree Gets Dedicated 4/19/09

I was actually stressing about the dedication and playing out the potential catastrophe that could occur when trying to hold her still in the front of the church and keep her quiet while we listen to our duties as parents from the appears I had rightful cause! So thankful that both of our children have been dedicated to the Lord in our church with all of their grandparents, but just as I had envisioned, it was like trying to wrestle an alligator (or something)!!! Once again, soooo blessed to have her!!!

T-ball & Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Ed.

Here are some pictures from Colby's first T-ball game. Not too chaotic for the first game.

After the game, Dawson spent the night so it was popcorn and a movie for a bit....

Long day.....time to retire!

Playing Hot Wheels the next morning.

A little outside time before going to get lunch

Before meeting Tammy and Thomas at McDonald's for lunch, I ran through the car wash. As Kylie says - note to self: never go through it again with Aubree!! She was petrified of it. Dawson attempted to sooth her, but that was less than successful. I had to take her out of the seat, and when the water passed by the window, she latched her arms around my neck with that terrified cry. Couldn't get a picture of that part....

I have a few bathing suits that I've gotten for Aubree and needed to try is one case where less is NOT more!! I said from the beginning that I wasn't buying her a kini, but I guess it is every mother's curiosity to know how her girl will look in a bikini - NOW WE KNOW! In her defense, she had just eaten spaghetti so her midsection was enhanced (it was still cute though). What do you, two, or three??

15 Months & Counting....

Aubree Cate turned 15 months on Tuesday (unbelievable), so she had her well visit today with the pediatrician. We actually saw one of the others in the practice since our doctor is on bed rest waiting on her new baby....we sent Colby off to school, and here we are (late as usual) leaving for our appointment.

All was well with the visit, and the doctor even said she had definite "spunk". I think that was just a polite way to say "WATCH OUT"!!!! When she was an infant, our regular pediatrician used the word "alert" to describe her when Aubree snatched the stethoscope from her neck and was reaching for everything that came in close proximity! I am thankful, though, that she has curiosity and likes new things....the pediatrician said we shouldn't have to worry about someone persuading her into anything she does not want to do when she is in her teenage years! LETS HOPE!!! She weighed in at 24 lbs & 12 ounces (75th percentile) and was 32 1/4 inches (95th).

She missed her morning nap and we had a couple of errands, so this combined with two shots made for a quiet ride home......
When I picked up Colby this afternoon, he said they didn't take a nap at school which led to this immediately when we got home. That was wonderful, because we have ball tonight and Dawson is sleeping over. Will post on all that later....

You're up, Dawson!

These are one of the best baby items we have had.....these Einstein Alphabooks have survived both children (even the box). Colby loved to look at these books when he was younger particularly when he learned his letters, because he would search for the letter book he wanted. AC sits frequently (and briefly) to go through them, also.

I don't get to catch as many of Thomas and Dawson's games as I would like. Since we are on break this week, it made it a little easier to make Dawson's softball game this afternoon.

Run home #11

A very tired Aubree and I went to have lunch with Colby since it took a little persuading for him to go back to school this morning. After lunch and a nap, we enjoyed some outside time. You'll notice the bat is in MOST EVERY picture because once she noticed it, she wouldn't put it down. Maybe that is a sign that we will be headed in the direction of ball playing and not pageants (which I would LOVE, LOVE, LOVE)! I did get a picture of Colby once he got back today!

After an entire week of being off, Colby goes back to school on Monday and by that afternoon he has fever. What are the chances? He had to spend the day with us today and continued to run a low grade fever off and on, so most of his day was spent with SpongeBob!

They had appointments for haircuts today which I've been counting down the days for over a week!! We did manage to get dressed and make it to that....
Aubree had a little more trimmed off the back while we continue to wait on the sides to catch up.

Trimmed and thinned!!

The Newest Wood is Here!

Baylor Smith Wood came this morning weighing 7 lbs. & 10 ounces. I've only seen a cell phone picture of the cutie, but if I can get her to email a picture of him, I will post it. Yea, John McLean you are a big brother!
