A Very Wet Bath!

Last night, Aubree had the bathtub to herself since Colby was still playing outside.......in her eyes, that meant free to roam and a bigger mess!

Erica and Uncle Rick came from Florida this weekend for her mom's memorial service. Both sides of our family is small, but Daddy's side of the family is especially small.....Erica is our only first cousin on the O'Donnell side. While we were talking and visiting at Grandma's on Saturday, she let the boys have some fun time with her laptop since it takes pictures. Tammy and I goofed off a little too since she wanted pictures of everyone to take back.

Not Baby Enough Chicks

Al worked in the chicken houses some this afternoon, so I took the kids over to see the birds since they were still babies at 10 days old. Even in just over a week, they are not really small (infant) chicks anymore.......they are more like toddler chicks!

Colby has had plenty of experience with them of all sizes, so they don't bother him anymore. He was not, however, a fan when he was a baby!

Aubree Cate, on the other hand, was not impressed when that chick start flapping its wings and flailing around....Al had taken her to visit once before when they were brand new, and he said she liked them THAT DAY - who knows.

THEN, after our three minute chick visit, I ordered Mexican and on my way out of the driveway this cow is snacking on our grass - well, he could probably feast on the grass actually! This cow had broken through the fence, but it appears to listen better than Colby and Aubree, because when I told it to get back in there......that's exactly where he headed!

Boys have to play!

We spent the day at Grandma/Granddaddy's on Sunday. During the time they had visitors, we went outside to enjoy the sun and let the boys (and girl) play.

Kid Distraction!

During the hustle and bustle of trying to get things together this morning to be at Grandma and Granddaddy's before lunch, Colby provided a little comic relief. I was in the kitchen, and I could hear him mumbling to himself and whining. I kept about my business figuring that he would get his problem worked out or I would surely hear the word he is best at - "MaaaaaMa!" Finally, I walked in there and this is what I saw:
For whatever reason, he put his leg in the section of the computer desk where the keyboard normally goes (on the sliding drawer). Once he got it in there, his knee wouldn't slide back out and the drawer wouldn't move! When I walked in and saw him balancing on one leg, it was the last thing I was expecting, and I burst into laughter. I had to go get the camera and Al!

An Unexpected Weekend

We headed to the coast on Friday afternoon so the kids could watch the St. Patrick's parade at Shellman on Saturday (which was beyond breezy down there!) A passing in the family brought Aubree and me home just before seeing the parade. Al stayed so Colby could see the parade as expected. He had more than enough beads to share with Aubree Cate!

Where's your nose?

We are beginning to learn body parts......the nose is the one she has down pat! Might be because she is learning to chase bats up there (as Dawn Beck calls them)!

An Old Friend

Since Colby was out of school today, he had the opportunity to go to our babysitter's house. He gets so excited when he is able to go back for a visit. He looks forward to playing with his friend, Lane.

Play and Rest

There was no talking Colby into resting today, so while the others napped, I went outside with Colby for a bit. We kicked the soccer ball to each other for a LITTLE while until he gets aggrevated when I kick it too hard or he misses it. Then, we change to throwing it back and forth........it didn't take long with that either.

She slept and slept and slept.........

until I finally woke her up around 5:45
I am still paying for that long nap, though....she's still in bed singing at 9:30.

Never too small for Bling OR Mexican!

We went over to Tammy's this morning, and we were looking through some of the things she brought back from Grandma's apartment during the clean-out on Friday. Aubree was our model, and she could possibly be a Price Is Right girl one day!

I think she might have been trying to reach the pin with her tongue....not entirely sure!
Look at Aubree! She likes to play with me.
Why hasn't she moved yet?

Thomas was playing the computer, so Colby watched for a while.
Yum.......chips and cheese!
Aubree Cate was loving her first Mexican meal - cheese quasadilla and rice

Yea, Yea, Yea!!

I finally made it back tonight, but AC had already called it a night, and Colby was standing at the back door looking out when I drove under the carport. When I came inside, Colby took a note off the refrigerator that he had gotten at school at the end of the week. Needless to say, I was extremely happy and made a really big deal about the note! It is nice to unexpectedly hear that your child does something special at school.

Atlanta bound.....

I made it to Smyrna tonight and I'm dreading the thought of dragging out in the morning to go to my speech conference. Anyway, I made sure to snap an early morning picture before I left this morning so I could have something to post of them tonight. I won't be seeing the kids again until late Friday.....

Apparently, some good sleeping...

Takes more than a flash to disturb him....

Gimme a Kiss!

Colby thinks it is funny that Aubree gives kisses by licking.....she isn't really sure what he's laughing at, she just knows Colby keeps coming back for more!

Book Review

Taken before church today....
While Aubree was sleeping this afternoon, I read the book written by local, Lisa Oliver (which is sold in stores around town). It is not very long, so I was able to find the time to devote to the entire book today. If you have not read it, I do recommend it. She is a para at Pinewood, and if you are familiar with her story, you know she lost a child and her husband just a few years apart. She describes the path her life has taken since tragedy struck her family several years ago. She writes of the ways the Lord has continued to provide strength and send signs that have brought her peace........the thought of having half your family taken from you is more than most can fathom, but she is an inspiration and shows how God can help the believer overcome the unthinkable.

The Perfect Weather

After our fashion show, the day brought much to do.....the weather I have been waiting for was finally here today AND it came on a weekend when it could be enjoyed! Colby was still gone and after lunch, we rode out to Mama/Daddy's so Aubree could have some flat ground to run on and play with their dog, Lucy, for a bit. She was not sure of the dog in the beginning but later when Lucy begin to go about her business, Aubree decided she wanted her attention......

While we were there, Daddy fed the fish and we tried to show them to Aubree as they swam close to the bank. She was loving the water and would have gotten in the pond if possible!

After leaving the fish, we walked on down to the second pond which has a deck........Aubree was really loving that! She desperately wanted down to stomp around and play - Yikes!
Is it any wonder that Aubree was loving it down there?.......if I had the peace and a view like this out my back door, I would probably hide there every day!

Mama and I decided to drag Aubree away from the water to ease our nervousness. I let her run and talk to Lucy a bit longer before nap time called.

We eventually caught up with Colby at Grammy's. He was having fun riding his bike and wearing working gloves........don't know!
